Sliders, a 1990s sci-fi t.v. show,
kept fans very entertained to see how a team of people from this Earth (and others) survived their trips to
Earths in parallel universes. History as we know it on this Earth, was shaped by people, luck, weather, G-d
and many other elements. Alternate history helps to pose the what ifs and offers an imaginary perspective on how things
could have happened so differently. Depending on the technological developments, such as Babbage's Analytical
Machine (computer) or the success of airships (blimps), alternate history can seem like sci-fi. |
